Last updated: May 2026. We update this page when our editorial workflow changes.
Topics come from three sources: (1) recurring reader questions submitted via email, (2) tax filing and policy changes that affect U.S. households, and (3) product categories where existing online coverage is shallow or misleading. We do not accept paid topic submissions.
Every numerical claim must reference a primary source. Acceptable primary sources include:
Secondary sources (other publications, surveys not conducted by primary institutions, industry blogs) are used only for context and are not the sole support for a claim.
APYs, interest rates, contribution limits, and other figures that change are cited with the publication's release date and the date we last verified them. Rates verified more than 90 days ago are flagged for re-verification.
Display ads, affiliate links, and sponsored placements are handled separately from the editorial team. Lender and product mentions in article bodies are decided by editorial judgment based on (a) relevance to the topic, (b) accessibility (national availability, broad eligibility), and (c) transparency of disclosures. Affiliate relationships are disclosed where applicable. We do not accept payment from any financial institution to influence editorial coverage.
Article drafts may be generated with the help of large language models. Every draft is reviewed by a human editor for factual accuracy, source verification, and removal of fabricated statistics. No article is published without human editorial review. AI is not used to generate cited statistics; numbers come from the cited primary sources only.
Factual errors are corrected with an explicit note at the bottom of the affected page including the date and the nature of the correction. Email corrections@moneylume.com to report an error.
